Open enrollment for health care starts Nov. 1
By Kate Duggan for Sapphire Community Health | Oct 29, 2017
Open Enrollment is fast approaching. Open Enrollment marks the time when individuals can sign up to get health insurance coverage for the following year. Insurance plans that you sign up for during the upcoming Open Enrollment period will become active Jan. 1, 2018. This year, Open Enrollment is from Nov. 1 until Dec. 15.
At Sapphire Community Health, we provide free, easy and unbiased help to make the process of enrolling easier for you. Coming in for help doubles your chance of successfully enrolling in coverage! Plus, we can help answer any health coverage questions you may have.
Most Montanans qualify for some form of financial assistance to help make their health plan more affordable. It's important to note that with financial assistance available, you can get connected to the best coverage option for you and your family. Having coverage is so important because it allows for you and your family to get and stay healthy.
I urge you to find your local enrollment assister and sign up for health insurance coverage. As open enrollment is shorter this year it's important to be prepared. Having basic information and household income information ready is a good step to help make signing up go smoothly whether you come into an office or sign up another way. There are several ways you can apply, enrolling online at healthcare.gov, calling the Health Insurance Marketplace at 1-800-318-2596 or connecting with a local assister who can help you sign up (541-0032).
Now is the time to get ready and get enrolled!
